The district of Terang and surrounds caters mainly for mixed farming, dairying and potato growing – though wool, fat lambs and beef are also produced. Terang provides good access to the tourist areas of Port Campbell and Peterborough to the south, Warrnambool to the west, as well as the Grampians in the north.

Circulation

The Terang Express circulates throughout the Corangamite Shire with distribution points at Panmure, Garvoc, Laang, Ecklin, Dixie and Cobrico as well as Noorat, Kolora, Glenormiston and The Sisters.

History

The Terang Express has been keeping its readers up to date with all the local news for more than 122 years.

Our pages are filled with local faces, local events and local milestones because locals matter – we ought to know, we’re local too.

The Terang Express is determined to reflect the region’s views, champion its growth and celebrate its achievements at every opportunity.

We’re there to share the region’s highs and are determined to work with the community to overcome challenges and lobby governments for support of worthy projects.

The Terang Express is proudly produced, printed and published by Western District Newspapers, an independent company based in Camperdown, right in the heart of the Corangamite Shire.

The township of Terang is located only minutes away from Noorat – birth place of Alan Marshall, author of “I Can Jump Puddles.”

Drawing people from across the shire, we currently employ over 16 staff and are committed to the future with a major upgrade of our printing plant recently completed.

We’re here to stay.
