The Camperdown Chronicle has a proud history of delivering local news on a weekly basis, covering stories that are at the heart of the community for over 146 years.
Camperdown is situated in the heart of Corangamite Shire and is home to many of the region’s services including the municipal offices, saleyards, hospital, schools and train station.
Located two and a half hours south-west of Melbourne on the Princes Highway, Camperdown is surrounded by mounts Leura and Sugarloaf and Lakes Bullen Merri and Purrumbete.
The Camperdown Chronicle’s pages are filled with local faces, local events and local milestones because locals matter – we ought to know, we’re local too.

The Camperdown Chronicle is proudly produced, printed and published by Western District Newspapers, an independent company based in Camperdown, right in the heart of the Corangamite Shire.
Drawing people from across the shire, we currently employ over 16 staff and are committed to the future with a major upgrade of our printing plant recently completed. We’re here to stay.
